The Arolytics founding team met while working together in one of the largest oil and gas emissions research groups in North America.

Our expertise in emissions data analysis and gas measurement science is well recognized across numerous industry associations and companies with whom we’ve partnered.

The founding team has published over a dozen peer-reviewed publications on energy sector emissions, and has led emissions projects internationally. We are driven to help you find the most effective emissions management strategies.

Founders

Liz O’Connell, BSc
Chief Executive Officer

Liz has extensive experience in methane and air quality projects and research. Having spent several years working to quantify greenhouse gas emissions from a dozen energy developments across Canada, she has a thorough understanding of the oil and gas emissions landscape across the country, and the challenges faced by industry. Alongside Co-Founder Emmy, Liz was recognized as a 2022 Forbes Top 30 under 30 in the Energy category.

Emmy Atherton, MSc
Chief Strategy Officer

Emmy has several years of experience working with the oil and gas industry to solve methane emissions challenges. Her experience has involved hands-on research, the development of algorithms for emissions analytics, and project management. At Arolytics, Emmy oversees the development and execution of Arolytics’ strategic plans and growth strategies. Alongside Co-Founder Liz, Emmy was recognized as a 2022 Forbes Top 30 under 30 in the Energy category.

David Risk, PhD
Science & Innovation Partner

Dave is an expert in gas measurement and quantification. He holds 6 patents, from fiber optic gas measurements to computational approaches to gas emissions analysis. Dave heads the FluxLab at St. Francis Xavier University, the largest gas measurement-specific research group in a Canadian University. A decade ago he co-founded Eosense, a Dartmouth-based gas instrumentation company.
